Sales Policy:
No un-weaned cockatiel will be sold, under any circumstances, not even to another breeder. This is to insure the health, safety and well being of the bird.
All cockatiels are sold with a closed traceable leg band, unless otherwise noted. It is there not only for identification, but also holds valuable information about your bird. Please do not attempt to remove this band yourself, as you may permanently injure your bird. If for safety or health reasons the band must be removed, take it to a certified avian vet who can do it safely and correctly without causing further injury.
All cockatiels are to be paid for in full, before picking them up, no exceptions!
If at any time during the transaction, the buyer cancels his or her order, any monies paid toward the bird[s] will not be refunded to the buyer. However if the issue is with me not being able to fill my end of the agreement, due to death of the bird, you will of course receive a full refund within 30 days. You also have the option of choosing another bird at that time, instead.
A $25.00 deposit is required to hold a particular bird that will not be picked up immediately, at the time of the sale. Once a deposit has been received, payment in full must be made in one months time. No bird will be held longer than that time period, unless the deposit has been made on a baby that is still being hand fed and is not yet weaned. If payment in full has not been received within 30 days, the cockatiel[s] will be considered available again and placed back up for sale. Any monies paid towards the bird[s] will not be returned.
Cash and money orders are preferred, but checks will be accepted on an individual basis. However, the check must first clear the bank, before you can take your cockatiel[s] home with you. Any checks that are returned, will be charged an additional charge of $35.00.
No cockatiel will be held without a deposit.
I will make every effort to insure the sex of your bird before you take it home. However there will be no guarantee insinuated or in writing. Sweet Pea Aviary reserves the right to refuse sales to anyone for any reason.
I offer a 72 hour health guarantee. If in that time frame your bird dies, and has been seen by a certified Avian Vet, who performs a necropsy [at your expense] and confirms it died from something preexisting, then you will receive a full refund [of the cost of the bird, not the vet bill] or another bird. You will need to of course provide documentation of said death and return the band to me. This is a good faith gesture on both parts. I have never lost a bird due to illness in more than 20 years so this should not be an issue. If you put your new bird in with another, before quarenteening them for at least 30 days, I will NOT honor this 72 hour guarentee, as you put both birds at risk.
All sales are final!
I will make a copy of this sales policy available with your purchase, for you to sign showing that you have read and understand it, thank you for understanding, Ruth
