Workshops
In the past years I have spent much time [and money] at the local Kennel Shop in Lewiston. After creating a professional rapport with them they asked me to do a workshop representing not only the NCS but also my aviary as well. They had seen some of my birds and knew they were sweet, so they were very excited that I agreed.
The birds I bring, can be handled by anyone who wants to see them. They are very well behaved and you can tell they really love mingling with the public. None of these birds I bring to the workshops are for sale, as they are pets, but any offspring I do not keep for show, will be for sale in the future.

In the past
This is the table at my first workshop. I have since expanded it to several long tables, floors, walls and even under table space. On average I do workshops at the Kennel Shop on Saturdays, every couple of months from noon to 4 pm. I will bring with me several birds that can be handled and interacted with, a small library of books, posters, literature on cockatiels, photos and so much more!
The first workshop I ever did, I was afraid I would never have enough information to keep going for four hours. However, when the store manager let me know I could start cleaning up to leave, I realized that I could have gone on forever. There were so many wonderful people who just wanted to learn what was best for their bird, and I was able to answer all questions that were asked. I made many new friends and a few of them even came to me later, to purchase a bird.
The best part is that with every workshop I do at least one person always says "I didn't know that" at very least one time. To me that means I am doing my job well, and that I am serving the bird world with valuable information.

Upcoming Workshops
As I schedule more workshops I will post them here. I have been asked not only by the Kennel Shop in Lewiston to do workshops, but also the one in Augusta. As you can see in this picture when I do a workshop at the Kennel Shop, they actually do some advertising for me, at least a week prior to when I am scheduled to show up. Please check back in here as well as there for upcoming events.
I have also been asked by the Auburn, Lewiston, and Lisbon Libraries to come in for a workshop at some point in time. I am available to do schools, nursing homes, or pretty much any public location where a group would like to learn more about these wonderful birds. I just recently did a workshop for the Girl Scouts in the coming weeks that will earn them a special badge, the first of its kind ever issued! I have gotten permission form the N.C.S. President to use our emblem, and so setting it up for future troops to also get involved and earn this badge.
Between workshops I am also working on a book. I am hopes of getting it published in the next few years. This will hopefully be an ultimate cockatiel handbook of sorts. I am gathering information from all over in hopes of making it one of the most resourceful reference books available. I will be using not only my own personal experiences, photos and sketches, but also those of some of my closest friends and trusted advisers.
